"This
is a beautifully made pale ale....refreshingly crisp and the Wye
Target hops give it a noticeable, but clean, bitterness." -

Westerham
Brewery Launches an Exclusive Bottled Beer for the National Trust
Westerham
Brewery has launched a pale ale for the National Trust using hops
from the Trust's hop farm at Scotney Castle. Little Scotney Ale
has a clean bitterness from the Wye Target hops which linger in
a fruity and hoppy finish.
Proceeds
from the sale of the beer will support the hop growing at the Trust's
only remaining hop farm. Ian Strang's hops are of a premuim quality
and have more apparent floral aromas than regular Target hops. The
hops are also used in Westerham Brewery's best selling Grasshopper
Kentish Bitter which is available in cask.
The
Westerham Brewery is situated on a National Trust farm and we are
delighted to be involved in a project to produce a truly local beer
for the National Trust which will help to maintain hop farming in
Lamberhurst parish.
The
beer will be available in National Trust shops and restaurants including
Scotney Castle, Chartwell, Sissinghurst Castle, Batemans, Standen,
Polesden Lacey, Petworth, Nymans Garden, Uppark and Ightham Mote.
British Bulldog in bottle conditioned form will also be available
at Chartwell.
