Audit Ale scoops SIBA National Champion Strong Ale Silver Medal
For
the second time in 3 years, Westerham Brewery's Audit Ale has won
the silver medal in the SIBA National Champion Strong Ale category.
The same award was won in 2008. Audit Ale has also won the gold
medal in the Strong Ales category at the SIBA South East competition
every year that it has been brewed and has been crowned Supreme
Champion beer of the South East for the last two years. Audit Ale
is brewed to the same strength and recipe of the old Black Eagle
Brewery, as made in 1938. The label in based on a 1930's bottle
label which carried the caption "As brewed at the Black Eagle
Brewery for over 200 years". Should this now be updated to
" for over 260 years"?

Wicks receiving the award from Gordon Tilley of Crisp Maltings,
sponsor of the Strong Ales category and a malt supplier to Westerham.
He really is 7 feet tall!)
