Originally
a wheelwright's cottage, the Surrey Oaks became a pub in 1850. It
is a timber-beamed pub with a magnificent inglenook fireplace and
stone flagged floor. Separate and discrete areas include the rastaurant
and "memebers" bar which are non-smoking, the Inglenook
bar and Pool room. Home made traditional pub food is served seven
lunchtimes and five evenings per week (not Sunday or Monday). Above
all the Surrey Oaks is best known for its real ales - three regular
and two rotating guest ales. CAMRA Surrey Pub of the Year (1995,
1996, 1998 & 2001), East & Mid Surrey Pub of the Year (2003
& 2004), South East England Pub of the Year (1998), Surrey &
Sussex Pub of the Year (2001).

Beer Essentials was established in 2001 by Gareth Jones. The shop
sells real draught beer to take away straight from the barrel and
ready to drink in 4-pint and 8-pint refillable containers. There
is also a range of around 150 different
bottled beers and ciders in stock.
